Battle Field Gourmets

Just a quick post...while i plan how my blog will look like...

Back in National Service, my Warrant Officer once ribbed me abt being too fussy with the food i ate. Namely, skipping cook house rations that were free, to eat at the unit canteen. Ever since, I've always felt a bit concious of myself when I spend a bit more on good food. Not fine food mind you..... Anyway, came across this page featuring Tabasco's Charlie Ration Cookbook, which was issued to the US Servicemen in Vietnam during the the Vietnam War. Many pictures show the men scorning cookhouse food for their own makeshift cuisine. So i guess cookhouse food is hated across the globe then....

Rest of it can be found here
